| Fundraising with a Twist - No Donations! | |
|
A Gold Guys fundraising gold party puts the entire process on its head, because instead of making donations to the cause, your guests leave your event with more money in hand than they had when they arrived. The process is a bit of a mash-up between a regular house-based gold party and a regular informal fundraising event. You still have to organize a location for your event, and you still have to organize refreshments (though Gold Guys might be willing to help with that too), and you still have to organize your attendees. What changes is that your guests are not being asked to bring their chequebooks or wallets... they are requested to bring any old, unused, broken, unwanted or otherwise scrap gold (see "What We Buy"). While your guests do what guests do at a fundraiser - mingle, eat, drink, shmooze and network, our Gold Guys will take the time to sit with each one individually to assess and weight the gold that they brought, and we will offer a cash payment on the spot for their parcel. At a Gold Guys fundraiser gold party, we will donate $1.00 to your charity for every $10.00 worth of gold that we buy. At an event last winter, Gold Guys bought just over $30,000 in gold in less than 3 hours from only 18 attendees. Not only did that result in a $3,000 donation to the cause (more than $165 per guest), but many attendees also donated a portion or all of the money they earned from their gold! In the end not a single dime came out of the pocket from any guest, and many left with pockets significantly enlarged. Gold Guys fundraising parties are no more of an effort or expense to organize than a regular fundraiser, but they are a LOT easier to derive significant donations through. Your guests arrive with something they don't want or don't use, they leave with extra cash, and your cause gains painless donations. What could be better?
We look forward to being your fundraising partner.

It's every fundraiser's common dilemma. You have a worthy cause you want to support. You have a network of people to draw upon - maybe your work colleagues, your club or organization, your team, or the guys down at the pub.
